1462000 Scale inhibition TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 27 Nov 1975 [20 Dec 1974 (3)] 48725/75 Heading C1C [Also in Division C7] Scale is inhibited in an aqueous system by incorporation therein of at least 0À0005 wt. per cent of where R = alkaryl having a C 6 -C 18 alkyl moiety, or a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group of 8 to 20 C atoms, A is alkali metal or NH 4 , n=1-10, R 2 and R 3 are saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon groups each containing up to 2 C atoms such that the total of C atoms in R 1 + R 2 is 9-30. Inhibition of scale in oil- or gas-wells and their flow lines or in heatexchangers, cooling towers or well strata is referred to, and specific suitable compounds are named.
