Abstract

1461526 Openers WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB 28 Aug 1974 [28 Aug 1973] 37587/74 Heading D1N An apparatus for opening non-woven material comprises a blower wherein the air flow is transverse to the axis of a rotor 2 which has segments carrying shredding tools to cooperate with an abutment edge 8 to tear fibres from the non-woven material 9, the material being advanced by a pair of plain rollers 7, 7a which are urged together by a spring. The rotor segments may be detachable and may have a curved section, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown).
