Abstract

1458149 Duplicating machine PITNEY BOWES Inc 10 Dec 1974 [21 March 1974] 53394/74 Heading B6C The master for a lithographic press is produced in an electrostatic duplicating apparatus 15 in a frame 12 and conveyed to the lithographic press in a frame 96. Sheets of master material are cut from rolls 28 and fed through rollers to corona charger 38, then to exposure point 26 and to developer 52 whose outlet 60 is aligned with the mouth 82 of a sheet conveying structure mounted in frame 66 in which drying fans 84 are provided. The master sheet is oriented and fed to master cylinder 102 where it is etched and dampened by fluid from unit 108. An inking unit is disposed adjacent the cylinder 102 which engages a blanket cylinder 116. Copy sheets fed from stack 92 between impression cylinder 118 and blanket cylinder 116 are passed around delivery cylinder 120 to tray 124. After sufficient copies have been taken the master is released by gripper fingers 142 and passed through guides 144 to tray 150.
