Abstract

1456561 Filtering air CIBA-GEIGY AG 6 June 1974 [6 June 1973] 25292/74 Heading BIT [Also in Division F4] Substantially turbulence-free air flows are produced by apparatus including a blower 11 and distributors 3, each distributor comprising at least two spaced apart filter textile fabric or nylon cloth. The air passes through a coarse filter 10 and a microfilter 12. It passes turbulently through flexible lines 2 and leaves the distributors 3 in substantially turbulence-free flow as indicated at 4. The distance between the filter meshes 32, 32' is from 0.2 to 5 cms. The filter meshes each have apertures from 0.005 to 1 mm. The air may be heated or cooled. The apparatus may be used to provide clean substantially turbulence-free air flows for an ampoule filling machine, Fig. 3 (not shown), at an entry zone (51) and at a filling and closing zone (52).
