Abstract
1456372 Television NIPPON HOSO KYOKAI and HITACHI Ltd 27 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 54904/73 Heading H4F In a colour picture information recording and reproducing system which selects a single frame from a sequence of frames (preferably a repeating sequence thereof) records it on a video tape and repeatedly reproduces and displays it as a still picture, and in which a pilot signal is mixed with the colour picture signal before it is recorded; an automatic phase control circuit is associated with the pilot signal generator and arranged to lock the frequency of the pilot signal to the frequency of the chrominance subcarrier of the input colour picture signal. The APC circuit is controlled in response to horizontal synchronizing signals present in the colour picture signal, the frequency of which bear a predetermined relation to the frequency of the chrominance subcarrier of the colour picture signal. Where PCM audio signals are transmitted with the colour picture signals, as in Specification 1,450,129, a bit synchronizing signal which is included with the audio signals may be used instead of the horizontal synchronizing signals to control the APC circuit.
