Abstract

1456021 Drainage channels; pipes CHATHAM DE LEEUW Ltd 24 Oct 1974 [5 Nov 1973] 51264/73 Headings E1C and E1G In a method of forming a concrete or other floor with a row of drainage apertures leading to an underlying drainage pipe, e.g. for a farm building, (a) a drainage pipe 10 having a series of transverse inlet tubes 12 is positioned-e.g. by ground staples 16-with its tubes 12 upstanding and projecting above the level of the floor to be laid; (b) concrete or other floor material 15 is laid over the pipe 10 and around the tubes 12; (c) the protruding upper ends of the tubes 12 are removed. As shown the drainage apertures are provided in the bottom of a floor channel and each tube 12 is tapered, having a closed outer end and a flanged and corrugated inner end push fitted in a respective pipe aperture. The pipe 10 and tubes 12 may be of plastics or cardboard.
