Abstract

1454950 Electrostatographic cleaning ITEK CORP 4 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973] 52376/74 Heading G2H A device for cleaning photo-conductive surfaces comprises a cleaning member having an elastomeric surface at least 0.25 mils thick and having a Shore A hardness of below 85 durometers. The cleaning member shown is in the form of two belts 14, 16 trained over rollers 22, which collect residual toner from a photo-conductive drum 10 and pass it to a heated accumulator 30 from which it is scraped by scraper 34. The cleaning member may take the form of a web, a roller or an endless belt and the accumulator may be respectively a sponge roller, a perforated metal roller with liquid adhesive applied thereto or a web of paper.
