Abstract

1453319 Gravity feed dispenser W A SHIELDS 11 Dec 1974 [24 April 1974] 53625/74 Heading A4T A liquid gravity feed apparatus comprises a reservoir 27 connected to one or more nozzles 20 via flexible hoses 30, Fig. 3, which extend between a respective anvil 32 and a yieldably urged clamping member 33 which normally closes the hose. The nozzles 20 are mounted on a slide 12 which is reciprocated by a cam 14 through a lever 16 and rod 19 connection. The slide 12 carries the anvils 32 and has guide blocks 22 to slidably mount a rod 21 on which a respective nozzle 20 is mounted. The rod 21 carries the clamping member 33 and a spring 23 urges the rod downwards to close the hose 30. The rate of flow through each hose is adjustable by a screw actuated lever (34), Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown). The nozzles 20 are raised as the slide descender by abutment with a syringe barrel 10 on a turret 8. The raising of the nozzle causes the clamping member 33 to raise to open the respective hose 30.
