Abstract

1452130 Heat transfer printing CIBAGEIGY AG and SUBLISTATIC HOLDING SA 26 Nov 1973 [1 Dec 1972 3 Jan 1973 14 March 1973 5 Oct 1973] 54698/73 Heading B6C Organic material is printed by a transferring operation in which the printing ink is applied to the material under heat from a decalcomania the plain colouring or design of which has been formed on the carrier in a printing ink containing at least one salt of a cationic dyestuff with an acid having a pKs value greater than 3. The ink may also contain a binder which is stable below 230‹ C. and water and/or an organic solvent. Transfer is advantageously carried out at 120‹ to 210‹ C. for 5 to 60 seconds. The carrier may be paper, stainless steel, aluminium foil, "Teflon" coated paper and cellulose parchment paper.
