Abstract
1451861 Jetting apparatus MARCONA CORP 3 Jan 1974 [16 Jan 1973] 00200/74 Heading E1F An hydraulic mining apparatus adapted to operate through a small diameter well bore to mine out a subterranean body includes a mining capsule 22 carried on the lower end of an elongate support structure .20. The capsule includes at its upper end a nozzle 30 for forming a laterally directed jet to impact the body to pulp the same into a slurry. An orifice 32 having a grate 34 for preventing of excessively large material is located in the capsule below the nozzle so that freshly pulped slurry flows through the orifice, which is connected to an elongate positive displacement pump 38 located in the capsule below the orifice. Suitable hydraulic power means are provided for operating the pump and for progressively moving the nozzle arcuately. Fixed nozzles 118, 122 are also provided at the pump inlet for flushing and priming and to the lowermost portion of the capsule to facilitate movement of the apparatus in the well bore.
