Abstract

1451751 Car trays E J LIVETT 10 Jan 1974 [10 Oct 1972] 46654/72 Heading A4H [Also in Divisions B7 and E2] A detachable table for the use of motor vehicle occupants comprises a tray 19 carried by a support arm 17 which extends upwardly in use from an inverted U-shaped clamp assembly including two L-shaped bars 10, 10a adapted to be secured to the central tunnel T within the vehicle body. The shorter limbs of the bars 10, 10a carry clamping screws 15 to engage the walls of the tunnel T and the longer limbs slide in superimposed relation in a tube formed by an inverted U-shaped part 11 secured to a support plate 12. The width of the clamp assembly is adjusted by such sliding, and bolts 14 extending through threaded holes in the part 11 and clearance holes 13 in the bars 10, 10a secure the bars in their adjusted position. The cranked arm 17 is secured by screws 18 and 21 in sockets 16 and 20 attached to the part 11 and the underside of the tray 19 respectively, the arm being rotatable about vertical axes in the sockets.
