145,051. Decker, W. Feb. 26, 1918, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates to automatic pistols having a safety catch which locks the sear when the magazine is removed. According to the invention, to enable the firing- pin to be cocked when the magazine has been removed, the repeating lever, which depresses the sear-actuating link when the breech-block is retracted, is also adapted to disengage the safety catch so that the firing-pin can slip backwards past the sear. In the construction shown, the sear 21 is locked when the magazine is removed by a shoulder on a lever 46. When the breechblock is retracted, the repeating-lever 31 engages an extension of the safety lever 46 and disengages it from the sear, as shown in Fig. 3. The magazine catch is a separate hooked lever 40. Specification 143,252 is referred to.
