Abstract

1449089 Injection tube EIKEN KIZAI CO Ltd 24 May 1974 23408/74 Heading A5R A resilient injection tube 2 in an artificial kidney circuit or medical liquid transfusion line or blood transfusion line, the circuit or line including two sections 1 which are connected end to end by the injection tube, which fits over the adjacent ends of the two sections, the sections being spaced apart within the injection tube, a part of the tube wall having a shield 3 which is incapable of being pierced by an injection needle (4) inserted through another part of the tube wall. If needle (4) is driven too strongly through the wall, for injecting liquid medicine into blood or liquid flowing through tube 2, the shield 3 prevents the needle piercing the operator. The metal shield may be fixed or detachably secured to the outer periphery of the rubber wall or embedded in it.
