Abstract

1447724 Windscreen wipers SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 15 Feb 1974 [7 March 1973] 6882/74 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper blade assembly comprises a longitudinally curved yoke 10 having a substantially U-shaped transverse cross-section and formed of plastics material and a squeegee 22 having inserted in longitudinal grooves 25 thereof spring blades 21. The yoke 10 is provided on the inner surface of each shank 23, 24 with guide elements for the blades 21 which extend along substantially the whole length of the yoke 11. As described, the guide elements comprise apertures 27 and recesses 26 which preferably alternate, a recess 26 in one shank being opposite an aperture 27 in the other. A continuous support surface for the spring strips 21 mounted in grooves 25 in a wiper blade 22, is provided by the upper surfaces of the apertures 27 and recesses 26. The width of the apertures 27 equals the thickness of the strips 21. One end of the yoke 10 is closed by a permanent closure web 17, the other end being closed by a displaceable web 19 which pivots about web hinge 20 and is of lesser width than the yoke 10. A wiper arm is attached to the yoke 10 via a stop spring 13 pivotally mounted on a bearing pin 12.
