Abstract

144,627. Pratt Engineering & Machine Co., (Assignees of Hurt, G. F.). June 12, 1919, [Convention date]. Impeller blades for fans for propelling corrosive fluids are formed of a non-corrosive metal, as Regulus metal, and are provided with a stiffening-rib on a core piece. Fig. 3 shows the core piece 21, which is keyed to the impeller shaft 14 and has a number of ribs 28, one to each blade of the impeller. Each blade has a stiffening-rib 19 at its periphery and a Y- shaped rib 20 on its rear face. A transverse web 18 connects the blades.
