Regulating.-In an engine which drives a compressor b for supplying an increased quantity of air to the carburettor d when required, a regulating-lever h is connected with the carburettor throttle through a spring or the equivalent so that movement of the lever h from x to y moves the carburettor throttle from the closed to the fullyopen position, and further movement of the lever h from y to z extends the spring without moving the throttle and closes the blow-off c' of the aircompressor so that the air is delivered to the carburettor.
