Abstract

1442776 Chucks HARDINGE BROS Inc 3 Oct 1973 [3 Aug 1973] 27754/75 Divided out of 1442775 Heading B3B A collet drawing member 12 for use in a fluid actuated rotary work gripping apparatus claimed in the parent Specification comprises a first tubular member 32 open at both ends for the passage therethrough of bar stock, having means at one end for securing a work gripping collet 148 thereto, and first and second slots 54, 56 in its external surface, a second tubular member 30 concentrically positioned around and rigidly secured to said first tubular member 32 so that its internal surface is flush with the external surface of said first member to form in conjunction with said slots a pair of fluidtight passageways 68, 70, and wherein apertures 58, 60, 62, 64 are provided in the second tubular member aligned with the slots for supply and return of a pressure fluid. The apertures 58, 62 when in use with a stationary supply sleeve 20, are aligned with annular passageways 84, 86 in the supply sleeve.
