Abstract

1442667 Photo-electrophoretic imaging and materials therefor XEROX CORP 24 Oct 1973 [26 Oct 1972] 49526/73 Headings G2C and G2H Photo-electrophoretic imaging composition 4 comprises an insulating carrier liquid, which may be decane, dodecane, tetradecane, kerosene, molten paraffin, beeswax or other thermoplastic material, mineral oil, silicone oil such as dimethyl polysiloxane or a fluorinated hydrocarbon, and suspended particles of a photo-conductive pigment consisting vanadyl or titanyl phthalocyanine. These particles are sensitive to red light, and may be accompanied by yellow photo-sensitive particles responsive to blue light and magenta particles responsive to blue light. The composition is coated on transparent injecting electrode 1, through which it is exposed imagewise, and a developed image is transferred to a paper sheet carried on rotating insulating-surfaced blocking electrode 5 as it sweeps across the composition.
