1442528 Pipe couplings INDUSTRIEWERKE KARLSRUHE AUGSBURG AG 3 June 1974 [2 June 1973] 24515/74 Heading F2G An expansion joint between two pipe ends 1, la comprises a bellows 2 which is surrounded by a protective pipe 3 welded to pipe end la, the bellows being pre-tensioned before installation and held in the pre-tensioned state by detent elements 6 of plastics material inserted into recesses in a ring 5 welded to the pipe end 1, and bearing against the ring 5 and the free end of the protective pipe 3. After installation of the coupling the elements 6 need not be removed but are designed to break-off in service.
