Abstract

144,138. Starley, W. Aug. 11, 1919. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-Relates to means for detachably attaching rims to vehicle wheels of the kind which are built up of a pair of metal disks. In one construction, Fig. 4, pairs of radial brackets l are clamped on the sides of the body of the wheel and are provided with a stop member and a detachable plate between which the rim is held. In a modification, inwardly projecting lugs on the rim are housed in recesses on one of the brackets and are secured by clamping plates on the outside. Fig. 10 shows another construction, in which the rim carries angle brackets u, and the edges of the disks forming the body of the wheel are held between these brackets and detachable angle-brackets u<1>.
