1440635 Screw-and-nut gearing TOS KURIM NARODNI PODNIK 12 Dec 1973 57667/73 Heading F2Q A nut assembly for screw-and-nut gearing comprises a nut 1 axially and angularly fixed relative to a bush 3 and a nut 2 angularly fixed relative to the bush 3 and axially movable by rotation of an annular member 4 having outer and inner screw-threads of different pitch, the outer thread engaging an inner thread of a member 5 fixed to the bush 3, or engaging an inner thread of the bush (Fig .2, not shown) and the inner thread engaging an outer thread of the nut 2. Free play and backlash between the nut assembly and a screw 6 engaged by it through balls 7 can be adjusted by rotation of member 4. Grub screws lock the member 4 relative to member 5 and nut 2 (Fig. 3, not shown).
