1437563 Earth working apparatus CRC-CROSE INTERNATIONAL INC 5 Feb 1974 [16 Feb 1973] 05200/74 Heading A1P [Also in Division El] An earth working apparatus comprises a draw-bar 18 formed by a pair of legs 28 joined by a brace 30, the legs 28 being pivotally mounted by pins 20 to a tractor 10, and pivotally connected via pins 38 to a tool holder assembly 32 which carries earth working tools 14, the draw-bar being raised or lowered by actuators 24 about the pins 20, a link 44 being pivotally connected at 46 to the assembly 32 and the rear of the tractor 1 by a pin 52 respectively, which pivotal connection 48 being slidable within a track 56 (Fig. 3) defined by the sides of a back-plate 58 which is secured to the rear of the vehicle, such that an actuator 64 can move the pivotal connection of the link 44 as at 52 from a position above the draw bar 18 forming a parallelogram linkage (as seen in Fig. 5) to substantially the level of the draw-bar (forming a radial linkage as seen in Fig. 6). When the apparatus maintains a parallelogram linkage and tools 14 meet an obstacle 72 in the ground the tractor 1 has to be moved back a certain distance in order for the actuators 24 to raise the tools 14 whereas, in the radial position there is no need for the tractor 1 to be moved. Controls (not shown) for the actuators 24 and 64 are operable by the tractor operator. The assembly 32 may be adjusted with respect to the draw-bar 18 with the aid of the link 44 Fig. 8 (not shown). The tools 14 may assume varying positions dictated by the movement of the lugs 50 in the track 56 while they are being elevated by the actuators 24 (see Fig. 7).
