1436694 Textile-treating compositions DOW CORNING Ltd 10 July 1973 [15 July 1972] 48127/75 Divided out of 1434017 Heading C3T A composition for the treatment of keratinous fibres, e.g. woollens, according to the parent Specification 1,434,017 comprises (A) a polydiorganosiloxane diol of MW at least 750 in which at least 50% of the organo groups are methyl radicals and any others are C 2-30 hydrocarbon radicals, (B) a silane RSiR<SP>1</SP> n X 3-n , wherein R is a monovalent radical composed of CH and N atoms containing at least 2 amino groups at least 3 C atoms removed from Si, R<SP>1</SP> is an alkyl or aryl radical, X is a C 1-4 alkoxy radical and n is 0 or 1, and (C) a silane R<SP>11</SP>SiZ 3 , or a partial hydrolysate thereof, where R<SP>11</SP> is H or a C 1-18 hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon radical, and Z is a C 1-4 alkoxy or alkoxyalkoxy radical. An organic solvent may also be present. Preferably (B) is 0À5-15 wt. per cent of (A) and (C) is 1-20 wt. per cent of (A) plus (B). In the examples 3% solutions are prepared in toluene or C 2 Cl 4 of compositions containing 5-16 wt. per cent of H 2 N-C 2 H 4 -NH-C 3 H 6 -Si(OCH 3 ) 3 and 1À5-5 wt. per cent of CH 3 Si(OCH 3 ) 3 or a partial hydrolysate thereof and a polydimethylsiloxane diol of MW 4À5 or 6 x 10<SP>4</SP> to 100%. In Examples 2 and 4 the alkoxy groups in the aminosilane are (OC 2 H 5 ) 3 or (OC 4 H 9 ) 3 , and the aminoalkyl group is H 2 N-(CH 2 ) 6 -NHC 3 H 6 - or H 2 N-CH(CH 3 )-CH 2 -NHC 3 H 6 -.
