Abstract
1436108 Injection moulding hollow articles CHLORIDE LORIVAL Ltd 22 Aug 1973 [4 July 1972 25 July 1972] 39795/73 Divided out of 1397535 and 1436107 Heading B5A Apparatus for injection moulding hollow articles comprises at least one core C projecting into a die including side wall portions 41 which are separable from each other in a direction transverse to the main direction of separation of the core and die to withdraw the portions 41 from undercut portions of the moulding, the apparatus including means for withdrawing the core a certain distance from the die (Fig. 2, not shown) while keeping the portions 41 closed to retain the moulding in the die, then parting the portions 41 (Fig. 3) to release the moulding and further separating the core from the die, and finally extending an ejecting member 20 from the core to push the moulding therefrom. As the moulding falls it actuates a micro-switch (not shown) to recycle the machine automatically. The machine may be used for making parts of ball pens but is primarily for making. battery containers.
