Abstract

1436046 Sieve drum device VEPA AG 18 Jan 1974 [1 Feb 1973] 02540/74 Heading D1L For the continuous treatment of flat web-like textile material a suitable apparatus comprises a sieve drum subjected to suction and partly enveloped by a tenter chain guided in a ring and over which the web material is run, the ring has a first U-shaped tenter chain receiving channel or groove and is mounted so as to be rotatable on rollers which are secured to retaining devices which themselves can be moved by spindles extending axially outside the drum, wherein the ring also has a second U-shaped channel or groove in which the rollers located round the drum run. As shown in Fig. 3 the tenter chain 3 is located in a U-shaped channel in the ring 7, the friction of the chain on the ring 7 rotates the latter with the chain around the sieve drum 5. The walls 21 are adjustable along the drum axis. The rollers 20 abut with their circumferential surfaces 24 and one annular end ring face against the inside surfaces 26 of a U-shaped groove in the ring 7, the web material being held by the chain needles 16. This arrangement forms a simple and robust construction.
