Abstract
1434151 Pumps operating by electromagnetic interaction with fluids AEG-ELOTHERM GmbH 29 July 1974 [3 Aug 1973] 33458/74 Heading H2A A linear travelling field inductor comprises a slotted, laminated core 1 carrying a polyphase winding, each tooth 3 carrying a respective coil 5 of height less than the two associated slots 4 and each slot containing between the sides of the two coils 5 therein a heat abstracting body 6 in contact with one or more cooling tubes 7 connected in heat conducting manner to a cover plate 8 closing the mouth of the slot. The inductor is suitable for use in electromagnetic pumps. The cover plates 8 are held in position by tie bolts and the tubes 7 in successive slots are interconnected by U- bends to form a single coolant circuit. Heat abstracting plates 11, Fig. 2 (not shown), interspersed among the laminations, are connected to cooling tubes 12 serving as heat sinks.
