Abstract
1433390 Cathode-ray display tubes NIPPON ELECTRIC KAGOSHIMA Ltd 20 Sept 1973 [20 Sept 1972 7 Nov 1972] 44258/73 Heading H1D The base-plate assembly 12 of a display tube for displaying characters formed from anode segments 21 overlying respective conductive films on a substrate includes conductive supports 23 for grid electrodes (14, Fig. 1, not shown), provided one above each segment pattern, to uniformly distribute the electrons from the cathode (not shown) over the segments, the side edges of the substrate having protrusions 28 which extend beyond the support 23. As shown in Fig. 3, the supports 23, and the leads 241 &c. therefor, are formed on the underside of the substrate, while the leads 22a &c. for the segments are formed on the upper surface, but these positions may be reversed (Fig. 4, not shown). The cathode leads to cathode supports 251 and 252 may be included with either the segment on the grid leads, and to facilitate manufacture all the leads of a group may be joined by a frame 271, 272, 273, or 274, which frame is cut off before completion of the tube.
