Abstract
1432517 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems GESTRA-KSB VERTRIEBS GmbH & CO KG 16 Aug 1974 [15 Oct 19731 36144/74 Heading G3P [Also in Division F4] A steam trap has a pilot valve member 17 operated by a float responsive to condensate level to control communication between a chamber 13 and an outlet 19 via passage 18 in a main valve member 10 and main piston 11. An auxiliary piston 12 connected by a strap 16 to the pilot valve member surrounds the main piston and defines restricted passages 14, 15 which connect the chamber 13 to the trap via passages 21. On slight opening of the pilot valve the resultant pressure imbalance across the auxiliary piston quickly moves the pilot valve to the fully open position to vent the chamber 13 and cause the main piston to open the main valve. In a modification the auxiliary piston is placed between the chamber 13 and the main piston and surrounds a central extension of the latter.
