Abstract
1429398 Roller straightening TH KIESERLING & ALBRECHT 4 Sept 1974 [5 Sept 1973] 38670/74 Heading B3M Apparatus for straightening bars or tubes includes an upper roll 5 formed in three sections 5a, 5b and 5c, the outer sections being eccentrically mounted but having their axes parallel to that of the centre section 5b. A central driving shaft 18 drives the centre section, and may also drive the outer ones through planetary gearing. Adjusters 13 and 14 vary the positions of the outer sections on their eccentric mountings. Workpiece guides 9 are positioned between the roll 5 and a lower roll 6, the whole of the guides or first their edges being of plastics material, if desired. The guides have straight edges 9a, 9b and a recess 10 for the lower roll. By lifting the outer roll sections, polishing of a workpiece may be performed.
