Abstract

1429107 Concrete piles; soil stabilization L A TURZILLO 1 March 1974 [19 July 1973] 9350/74 Headings E1F and E1H A method of producing an anchor pile in earth S including an overburden E2 comprises the steps of forming a reinforced pile column 20 of fluid, self-hardening cementitious material in a pile cavity 14 extending through the overburden and into the earth El inwardly of the overburden. At least one tension element 15 extends through the pile column. A hollow-shafted auger 11 is screwed about the tension element or elements into the formed pile column while the cementitious material is in a partially set, penetrable condition to define a new cavity 14a through which a part of the tension element or elements extends freely of the overburden. The remainder of the formed pile column extending inwardly of the new cavity is allowed to harden to form the anchor pile with an inner extent of the tension element or elements anchored in it.
