1427524 Capacitors; component assemblies INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS Ltd 23 May 1973 [13 June 1972] 27453/72 Headings H1M and H1R [Also in Division H2] In a capacitor bridging the common supply lines to a plurality of circuits, e.g. integrated circuits on a board, one electrode of the capacitor is divided into isolated portions, each connected to a respective terminal of a circuit, and a member is provided for conductively connecting the isolated portions, which member is removable to isolate the circuits from the supply line, e.g. for test purposes. As shown rigid dielectric strip 11 has a continuous metal coating 13 on one side and separated coatings 12 on the other, a coating 12 optionally having a gold or tin layer 18 for good electrical contact. A conductive clip 19 fits over the capacitor arrangement, being insulated from electrode 13 by insulation 17 and having broad spring fingers 20 contacting and bridging electrode portions 12. Clip 19 may alternatively be insulating with a metallized contact surface and in this case insulation 17 is unnecessary. Further, to isolate the circuits from both supply lines, electrode 13 may also be divided into portions which can be interconnected by a metallized coating on an insulating clip. Terminal pins 16 for each portion of electrode 12 and at least one pin for electrode 13 are used to mount the assembly on a circuit board. The capacitive assembly may comprise a plurality of separated portions so mounted on the board as to impart maximum rigidity thereto.
