Abstract

1427185 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 5 July 1973 [6 July 1972] 32077/73 Heading G3P A pressure regulator for a compressed air braking system of a vehicle, connectible to normally allow compressed air from a compressor to pass via port 4, filter 5', passages 6, 9, check-valve 10 and port 11 to a reservoir, includes an unloader valve 20, a tyre inflator port 7 and a pair of parallel mounting surfaces (22, 23), Fig. 2 (not shown), enabling the regulator to be mounted to the vehicle chassis or body in alternative orientations. The axis of the port 7, lies in a plane at least substantially parallel to the mounting surfaces and is inclined to axis 27 by angle α of between 0 and 90 degrees. The air pressure in the reservoir is communicated via passage 12 with a chamber 13 so that when the reservoir pressure reaches its maximum value, it causes piston 14 to raise a valve 15 and thereby communicate the pressure with a piston 18 which then opens the valve 20 for unloading the compressor discharge to atmosphere.
