Abstract

1426858 Reciprocating pumps CHEMIE UND FILTER GmbH VERFAHRENSTECHNIK KG 2 May 1974 [5 May 1973] 19254/74 Heading F1A [Also in Division H2] A variable output metering pump comprises a main housing containing an electromagnet and armature for driving the pumping head, a removable cover on which is mounted a control circuit for generating impulses for the electromagnet and electrical couplings including detachable parts for inter-connecting the electromagnet and control circuit. The pump has a diaphragm(9), Fig. 4 (not shown), mounted in the head 6 and is driven by an armature 10 mounted inside an electromagnet 11. The cover 14 carries a screw (42) rotated by knob 18 to set the length of stroke of the armature by limiting its rearward movement. An electrical circuit (32), Fig. 3 (not shown), provides exciting pulses for the magnet at a frequency set by potentiometer 19. Electrical connection between the circuit and the magnet is via a multi-pin connector 12, (B9, Fig. 3) on the housing and cover which engages when the two parts are fitted together and sealed by screws in tapped holes 5. The cover 14 has a peripheral groove carrying a rubber sealing gasket in its mating surface (15).
