Abstract

1426313 Propagating plants HASSELFORS BRUKS AB 22 Feb 1974 8214/74 Heading A1E Blocks of compressed peat contain seeds and are mounted in a support 10 having low walls 11 defining individual compartments each of which has the major part of its base removed, having a central aperture 12 and a comparatively narrow supporting ledge 14. After moistening, the expanded blocks 15A are held out of contact with each other but with the gaps 16 between adjacent blocks as small as possible to reduce the rate of drying. The supports 10 with the blocks may be mounted on stackable holders (Fig. 3, not shown) during germination and for transportation.
