Abstract

1425338 Surgical needles MPL Inc 20 Aug 1973 39189/73 Heading A5R A needle assembly for attachment to the body for use in infusion or as an electrode, comprises a needle 13 with means attaching it to a bandage 21 which is a flexible sheet 23 having one surface coated with pressure sensitive adhesive P.S.A., the bandage being foldable about a line in the direction of the needle axis to form a winged handle for the needle. Removable protective covering 25a- 25d may be provided for the adhesive surface being stiffer than the flexible sheet for easy removal. The needle may pierce the bandage at 23h and be attached to a flexible tube 15 also attached to the bandage by an adhesive strip 31. The needle is rotatable by manipulation of the relative heights of the wing edges. The bandage may be folded either first transversely of the needle, then longitudinally or vice versa. The needle may be secured to the adhesive side of the bandage being then irremovable without the bandage.
