Abstract

1423515 Collapsible containers GORDON LOW (PREFABRICATORS) Ltd R LEAL and T H JONES 2 Feb 1973 6280/72 Heading B8D A self-supporting collapsible bulk storage container for liquids, gases or flowable solids comprises an inflatable wholly flexible envelope formed by a circular top and bottom portions 1 and 5 welded, vulcanized, or adhered to a side wall 3 and one or more openings 6 and 7 incorporating valves or connected to pipe lines incorporating valves through which the flowable material is introduced to inflate the envelope into a non-angular balloon form. The envelope may be of rubber, e.g. butyl rubber, or plastics, e.g. polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, or polypropylene, and may be reinforced. The container may be utilized in a supporting structure, Fig. 2 (not shown) formed by an annular wall 8 comprising a plurality of interconnected corrugated iron segments. A liner 12 is located between the container and wall. A ground liner, which may be connected to the liner 12, may be disposed under the container bottom.
