Abstract

1423296 Filter system for dry-cleaning fluid F TAUSSIG 13 March 1973 [3 April 1972] 11916/73 Heading BID [Also in Division Dl] A filtering system for recovering dry cleaning solvent (see Division Dl) comprises a primary filter 12, a pair of cartridge towers 13, 14 and a slow flow tower filter 16. The tower 16 may be in parallel with the 3 other filters as shown or with the filters 13, 14 only or may be in series with the filter 12. The primary filter 12 comprises a foraminate shell 42 surrounding a larger nylon or polyester monofilament cloth bag 43 which collects a filter cake within it. Each tower 13, 14 contains a pair of cartridges 53, 54 which each comprise a mixture of clay and carbon particles between foraminate inner and outer cylinders and a pleated paper filter 60. The filter 16 may be as the filters 13 and 14 but is preferably full of clay and carbon particles without a paper element.
