1422831 2-Acylaminobenzimidazoles GRUPPO LEPETIT SpA 6 Nov 1973 [12 Dec 1972 1 Feb 1973] 51391/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, wherein n is 2-4; R is H or C 2-4 alkanoyl; R 1 is C 1-4 alkyl, C 2-6 alkanoyl or (but not when n is 2) H; R 2 is C 2-4 alkanoyl and R 3 is C 1-6 alkoxy. In examples, these compounds are prepared by reacting a corresponding 2- aminopolyalkoxybenzimidazole with an alkanoic acid anhydride. Therapeutic compositions for oral or parenteral administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which have antihypertensive and anthelmintic activity.
