Abstract

1421312 Friction false twister KUGELFISCHER GEORG SCHAFER & CO 25 Feb 1974 [16 April 1973] 8353/74 Addition to 1376272 Heading DID In a false-twister comprising three rotatable spindles urged towards one another and bearing yarn-twisting friction elements, the spindles are moved apart to form a yarn threading path between the elements, and the spindles always lie at the corners of an equilateral triangle. As shown, Fig. 1, three spindles 2 are rotatably mounted on levers 13 pivotable on pins 15 located at the corners of an equilateral triangle. The spindles are urged towards one another by O-ring 33. Yarn-guide mandrel 37 may be moved axially to vary the overlap of frictiontwisting discs 21 by the co-action of conical mandrel and spindle surfaces 42, 12. To move the spindles apart simultaneously and to the same extent to form a threading passage, spindle-contacting cam 103 in hollow member 101 is rotated using lever 102. The cam may have the forms shown in Figs. 2 or 3. O-ring 35 rotates one spindle from which the other spindles are rotated by O-ring 34. Toothed drive belts may replace the drive O-rings.
