Abstract

1420290 Transformers; forming windings SIEMENS AG 12 June 1974 [14 June 1973] 26005/74 Addition to 1413735 Heading B3A [Also in Division H1] The method of producing an inductive electrical component as claimed in Specification 1,413,735 is modified in that the surface of the magnetic core 4 is entirely covered with a plurality of stacked metal layers 6, 8, 14 insulated from each other and if necessary from the core at 5, 7, 13, the stack then being cut through with a focused laser beam at 9 to form layers of helical windings which may be connected together to form an inductor or used separately as transformer windings. Successive layers of insulation and metal are stepped as in Fig. 3, to expose terminal areas 11, 12 at selected points. For winding ratios other than 1 : 1, or for increased dielectric strength, metal layers may be successively deposited, cut and insulated as at Fig. 5, to form windings 6, 18.
