Abstract

1419417 Doctor blade XEROX CORP 25 June 1973 30008/73 Heading D1L [Also in Division G2] A blade 1 for doctoring a liquid developing roller 5 or for cleaning a copying surface after image transfer is mounted in a holder 2 which is loosely coupled to pivoted arms 3 to permit small relative movements of the arms sufficient to take up misalignment between the blade and the surface being doctored or cleaned. As shown, L-shaped arms 3 are pivoted on stub shafts 8 for movement about a common axis A, are biassed by springs 6 and have U-shaped slots 9 for loosely receiving lugs 2a at the ends of holder 2. A bar 4 extending between arms 3 is coupled at 15, 16, 17 to the holder 2 to limit rotation of the holder with respect to the arms 3. Preferred blade materials, dimensions, inclination and pressure are given.
