Abstract
1417855 Pistons J N FAWCETT 20 Sept 1973 [21 June 1972] 29175/72 Heading F2T The plane of a piston ring and its groove are inclined at an angle (a) not greater than 5 degrees to the plane normal to the generatorix of the ring outer surface and/or the longitudinal axis of the piston. The ring may be elliptical and may have its end faces 11b, 11c, Fig. 6a, 11d, 11e Fig. 6b, parallel or inclined to each other. The gudgeon pin axis Y-Y may be offset from the piston axis. Means to prevent ring rotation may be provided.
