Abstract

1417528 Purifying air YSUZUKI & CO Ltd and H OHTAGURO 28 Dec 1973 59925/ 73 Headings B1L and BIT [Also in Division C1] Air is purified by drawing it by means of fan 6 in succession through filter 9 which is a mixture of inorganic fibre, polymer and active carbon to remove smoke, filter X which is a foamed polymer to remove dust, filters A, B and C which are silica/alumina gel of surface area greater than 550 metres/cm impregnated with catalysts consisting of in filter A an ammonia salt and copper, cobalt or magnesium chromate and cobalt manganate, in filter B substituting a phosphonium salt for the ammonia salt and in filter C substituting a potassium salt. Filter D is an identical carrier to that used in filters A B and C but is impregnated with a surface active agent to remove toxic gases produced by the catalytic absorptive process.
