Abstract
1417315 Cracking GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO 10 Jan 1973 [10 Jan 1972] 1280/73 Heading C5E In the fluidized catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon oil higher than gasoline, using a re. generated catalyst, at an inlet temperature between 593‹ and 792‹ C., an outlet temperature between 482‹ and 593‹ C. and a residence time less than five seconds, the yield of gasoline is changed by increasing the temperature of the regenerated catalyst and simultaneously adjusting the ratio of catalyst to oil, so that the outlet temperature is unchanged. This enables one to change the yield of a higher fraction, e.g. furnace oil, to suit seasonal demand, without much change in the quality, e.g. octane number, of the gasoline.
