Abstract

1417294 Partitioning UNITED STATES GYPSUM CO 31 Aug 1973 [1 Sept 1972] 41171/73 Heading E1W A partition comprises two opposed rows 12, 14 of panels 16 and stud members 30, 40 each having means supporting an adjacent pair of panels in one of the two rows, a stud member 40 supporting the panels in one row enclosing most of a stud member 30 in the other row which stud member 30 abuts against the supporting means 42 of the enclosing member 40. The construction may be used together with partitioning as described in Specification No. 1349026 when the joints between adjacent panels in opposed rows occur opposite each other. The panels may be fixed to the studs by double sided adhesive tape 50 or by VELCRO (registered trade mark) tape adhered to each surface either intermittently or in a continuous line along the studs. The panels may be plasterboards conventionally fitted to floor and ceiling channels.
