1417119 Treating bone fractures G H THIELE 30 Nov 1972 55444/72 Heading ASB Bone fractures may be healed by local injection of a liquid of pH 8-11 comprising (a) a salt or ester of formic acid, an alkane carboxylic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid, a hydroxy-substituted fatty acid, a hydrogenated fatty acid or a polymerised fatty acid and (b) a liquid carrier. Salts specified include sodium morrhuate, ethylammonium oleate, sodium psyllicate and sodium ricinoleate. The carrier is usually water and may also contain ethanol, benzyl alcohol and sodium hydroxide. Where necessary, the bones are aligned before treatment and several doses of the composition may be administered over a period. The treatment is applied to the coffin 'bone of a horse.
