Abstract
1416876 Sorting sticks MARTIN ROBERTSON & BAIN Ltd 13 Nov 1972 6878/75 Divided out of 1416875 Heading B2H [Also in Division B8] In a method of classifying sticks for length the sticks are moved successively lengthwise by a conveyer 29c under a roller 40d so that the leading end is unsupported and the stick is launched in the direction of a transverse rod 68c. If the stick, e.g. A, is longer than a predetermined length its momentum carries it to a conveyer 52, the rod 68c acting to tilt it clockwise as shown in dot-dash lines. If too short the stick is tilted anticlockwise and falls between the conveyers 29c and 52 as shown in dashed lines.
