Abstract

1416684 Tiling R D GLOVER 10 Nov 1972 [25 Nov 1971] 54760/71 Heading E1B [Also in Division A4] A method of laying flexible floor covering tiles comprises fixing the tiles 'to a floor surface using a pressure sensitive adhesive, wherein the floor surface is provided with a release characteristic to said adhesive by being formed of bare boards the upper surface of which have or have been given a release characteristic to said adhesive so that said tiles can be peeled from said surface and take all the adhesive with them. The tiles and bare boards may be the same size. The base sheet structures are secured to the floor by pressure sensitive adhesive which is initially covered by a release web. The tiles may be of woven, flocked or needled fabric or of plastics and they may be backed or unbacked. The adhesive may initially be applied to the upper surfaces of the backing sheets and covered by a release sheet.
