Abstract

1416312 Electrostatic spray guns GRACO INC 15 Sept 1972 [27 Dec 1971] 42914/72 Heading B2F In an electrostatic spray gun the conductive path to the charging element 22 is always insulated from the spray material passage 18. The outlet end of the passage 18 is controlled by a valve 6, Fig. 2, comprising a seat 13, Fig. 3, and an element 12 which is retractable upon actuation of a trigger 5 pivoted at 8. A nut 15 when screwed home engages a part 10 to prevent opening of the valve 6. The conductive path through an insulating housing 17 comprises a cable 23, spring 26, conductive element 27, spring 28, resistor 29, stud 30, screw 34, wire 33, spring biased conductive plug 35 and finally a ring 36 which is secured to a rotatable nozzle by an insulating pin 37a and a conductive pin 37 which terminates in the charging element 22. The ring 36 can be removed and repositioned in a different orientation, further holes in the nozzle being provided to accommodate the pins 37, 37a.
