Abstract

1415030 Body support garment MAGIC MOLD Inc 4 July 1973 [5 July 1972] 31938/ 73 Heading A3V A body support garment comprises a continuous first portion 10c adapted to encircle the body of a wearer and a second portion 10d extending from the first portion to one end of the garment, the second portion being split to form flaps 10e, 10f which may be attached together in overlapping relationship throughout substantially the whole length of the triangular overlapping portions and at various mutual angles of overlap. The ladies support garment shown in Fig. 1 comprises a rear panel 11 and left and right front panels 12b, 12a of elastic support material. The adjustable flaps 10e, 10f accommodate fluctuations in the waistline. Securing means for the flaps comprise a pivotal snap fastener 30 adjacent the apex of the triangular region of overlap and complementary strips of filamentary hook and loop fastening material on the respective flaps. Additionally provision is made for adjustment of girth at the thighs by means of thigh supports 50a, 50b arranged to extend across splits in the thigh portions of the garment and to be secured adjustably by means of filamentary hook and loop strip fasteners. Fig. 8 shows a pair of men's briefs which lack the thigh adjustment and which are formed additionally with a stretchable genital panel 130 having a free upper edge,
